Spider Vein Laser Treatment

You don’t have to live with spider veins.

State of the Art Comfort & Care

Spider veins can develop anywhere on the body. Compared to varicose veins they are thinner and less substantial. They are most commonly seen on the face and legs.

At Northwest Vein Center we believe the best way to seek spider vein treatment is to work with an ABVLM-certified physician, especially one who specializes in vein and vascular care. We believe patient comfort and convenience and outcomes may be improved by using the most advanced laser technology available.

That’s why our patients consistently receive the fastest, most comfortable treatments and get the results they want.

Laser Treatment of Spider Veins

Laser treatment is used primarily in the treatment of the smallest spider veins or broken capillaries on the leg or face. The laser emits a specific wavelength of high energy pulsed light, delivered in variable durations. After the energy passes through the skin, the light is absorbed by the red blood cells in the spider vein.

Foam Sclerotherapy

We offer treatment of spider veins and varicose veins with an FDA approved sclerosing agent.  This is an actual injection of a medication into the affected veins that close the veins and shuts down blood flow, ultimately eliminating the veins treated.  Our providers foam the solution to allow better resolution and coverage of the veins treated.

Sclerotherapy is a rather simple procedure for the treatment of spider veins. Veins are injected with a sclerosing solution which causes them to collapse and fade from view. This may also remedy the bothersome symptoms associated with spider veins, including aching, burning, swelling and night cramps.

The sclerosing agent is injected into the affected veins. Approximately one injection is administered for every inch of spider vein - anywhere from five to 40 injections per treatment session. Because the needle is so thin and the sclerosing solution is so mild, pain is usually minimal.

After each sclerotherapy session, the vein will appear lighter. Two or more sessions are usually required to achieve optimal results and these are usually scheduled 4-6 weeks apart.

Some bruising and erythema may develop around the injection area which usually resolves within a month. There may also be some residual brownish pigmentation which may take up to a year to fade.
